Both the school district & local law enforcement are aware of a generic Snapchat social media post that's making threats against schools. This posting has appeared in multiple states. Law enforcement is actively investigating to determine the origination of this source. Currently, it's deemed that the threat isn't credible, and it's not specifically targeting RPS 205 schools. Safety is our number one priority, and we take all threats seriously.

Labor Day
Good Afternoon, We are SO excited to see all of our amazing students tomorrow. Before we begin, we just want to review the pick up procedure for the end of the day. These are the same procedures we had last year, so it should be familiar to returning families. We have two procedures for pick up. If you want your child to come to you in your car, you will park on the McIntosh side of the street. Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the curbside line. Parking in the line slows down the system. We will dismiss students in 3 groups for the safety of the children. When their group is called, they will exit door A and come to your car. Once they have loaded, please exit quickly so the car line can move and other groups can be called. Please be patient as we practice our systems to make them run smoothly. If you prefer to walk up and pick up your child, please park on the Kennedy side of the street and then line up behind the sign on the sidewalk. Someone will be out early to begin taking names much like we do for curbside. Walk-up children will be called at the same time as Group 1 curbside children. Lastly, If your student was assigned a PM bus (check your email, please) and you do NOT want a bus, please communicate with the front office staff or the classroom teacher. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We want to work together to get children to you in the safest and most efficient way possible. Sincerely, Mrs. Salberg
