All RPS 205 schools are closed today because of the colder than expected weather. All after-school activities are also cancelled including Y Care. The RPS 205 Admin Bldg, Sterling Holley, & Ops Support Ctr will be open. This day will be made up on March 3 (Casimir Pulaski Day).

We are excited to share that the 2025-2026 school year calendar was approved by the school board on Tuesday night. It includes several important updates that reflect our commitment to aligning with neighboring districts and enhancing the overall learning experience for our students. Key Changes : Earlier Start Date: The school year will begin earlier in August. This adjustment is possible because all RPS 205 schools are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable learning environment during warmer months. Fall Break: We will continue to offer a full week off for Fall Break, giving families and staff time to recharge. First Semester Ends Before Winter Break: High School students will complete their first semester before Winter Break, allowing for a true break without pending exams or projects. School Year Ends Before Memorial Day: The last day of school will occur before Memorial Day, providing families an earlier start to summer vacation. Some RPS staff were presenters at the “Raising Student Achievement Conference” in Oakbrook, Illinois. McIntosh Principal Erin Salberg & McIntosh Instructional Coach Elizabeth Hand presented "Start Strong to Stay Strong - The Importance of a Morning Routine for Student Success". Ellis Instructional Coach Jessica Berg presented "Fluency is Fundamental". Carlson Assistant Principal Kelsey Scarpetta Carlson & Instructional Coach Katherine Trotter presented "Enhancing Student Achievement through Rigorous Problem Solving".

McIntosh Families, Please see the attached flyer for the After School Program starting at Unite Faith Church on the corner of Pierpont and School Street. There is an open house on Monday. The 1st 10 families to attend will be entered in the drawing to win a TV! The Open House is from 12:00-2:00 Monday, November 18th.

Principal Appreciation Day: This annual recognition was first approved by Illinois' Governor in 1990. We took pictures of our principals at our 41 schools & asked students to draw them for us. Here are some of their works of art. Thank you all RPS 205 Principals!

McIntosh Families! Join us for Tiger Treats this Friday, October 25th from 4:00-6:00!

Regular school attendance is one of our goals this school year! Last week, we had our lowest year-to-date attendance rate on Monday, October 11th, with 78.7% of students attending school, and our highest year-to-date attendance rate of 91.7% on Thursday. Our goal is for 95% of students to attend school every day! #Herewegotigers

McIntosh Families: Please see this flyer for a Free After-School Program offered by United Faith M.B. Church. Details: Monday-Friday 2:00-6:00 Please come to the McIntosh office for an application. This program will open on Monday, October 21st! McIntosh Staff will walk students to United Faith located at 250 Pierpont Ave (daily). Please call McIntosh and ask for Ms. Lynn.
